Banned! (for the month)

Websites I need to ban in order to be successful at NaNoWriMo:
  1. PerezHilton.com
  2. Craigslist (specifically Rants and Raves)
  3. CNN.com
Notice I did not add in MySpace, Multiply, or my secret society's page. I'm only human!

Television shows I need to ban in order to be successful at NaNoWriMo:
  1. Twin Peaks (I've been watching it on DVD)
  2. Countdown with Keith Olbermann
  3. Daytime Sci-Fi/Discovery/History Channel
Notice I did not add Adult Swim, True Blood, Dexter, or The Sarah Silverman Program, because that would be too torturous.

Podcasts I need to ban in order to be successful at NaNoWriMo:
  1. Coast to Coast AM
Okay, so that's my ONLY podcast, but I listen to it every day. I'll have to take a break from aliens, conspiracy theories, and the paranormal world for a while.

Things I MUST HAVE in order to be successful at NaNoWriMo:
  1. Coffee. Archer Farms Hazelnut Creme, Hazelnut Splenda, 1% milk (and the occasional Starbucks treat)
  2. The TV/VCR combo in Little D's Room (Yes, I plan on using it as a babysitter for an hour or so a day.)
  3. A crucifix to exorcise my urge to edit as I write
  4. Sundays (so Mr. D can watch the kiddo when I'm attempting to catch up from the week's procrastination, and it will happen)
  5. A good soundtrack (I'm torn between the sweet 90's mix I just made for the Ghettoween party I'll be attending or my awesome R&B playlist)
  6. 10-30 minutes of meditation before I write every day (in hopes that a clear mind will lead to success)
  7. Rain and colder weather
  8. A blog to run to when I need to: A) vent about not being able to write; B) procrastinate, C) fill out silly memes and surveys because I don't feel like using my brain.

Can you guys think of anything else?

P.S. On a totally unrelated note, did you know that you can push Ctrl and + or - to change a page's text size? I just found that out through trial and error--haha!

I loved watching Twin Peaks. I think I should seek out the DVD collection. I have visited Snoqualmie Falls (where the outdoor sequences of Twin Peaks was filmed) a couple of times. It's only about an hour east of me. When you come out to visit in April with Karen, we can go there! ;-)
